Deep Creek Neighborhood Watch

Deep Creek Neighborhood Watch

Our neighborhood watch program is a group of people living in the same area who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together, and in conjunction with local law enforcement, to reduce crime and improve their quality of life. The meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month from 5:00-6:00 pm. These monthly meetings employ a hybrid approach utilizing Zoom while also allowing in person attendance at the Section 20 POA office. As the organization continues to evolve, three main purposes have surfaced:

  1. Perform patrols of neighborhoods to provide an extra presence in our neighborhoods and act as a deterrent to people who may perform unlawful activities, working with the Sherrif’s Department. In this role, the patrol observes and reports only.
  2. Educate Deep Creek Residents on how to avoid being a victim of crime. This education includes a variety of subjects such as detecting/avoiding scams, avoiding break-ins, security cameras and when/how to involve the Sherriff’s Department.
  3. Organize and host events for the community that provide a safe and constructive activity for residents and allow for meeting neighbors while also learning about the organizations available to our residents. A few examples include:
  • Trunk or Treat held in the parking lot at Rampart and Rio De Janeiro.
  • Breakfast with Santa at JB’s Corner Café

We have a great group of core team members, but we do need more volunteers to perform neighborhood patrols. We’re also looking for interested folks to attend our meetings to learn about Neighborhood Watch and to hear from the Sherriff’s Department about activity in Deep Creek. If interested, please contact Neighborhood watch at [email protected], or feel free to reach out directly to me, Jim Bambrick @ 330-714-4705.
